Policy regarding co-authorship:

The Global Garlic Mustard Field Survey employs a novel strategy for obtaining large-scale biogeographic data to address basic scientific questions in invasion biology. We have develope a standardized sampling method, and we ask the scientific community, as well as conservation groups, weed managers, and interested naturalists to participate and contribute data.

Obviously, we hope and expect that there will be a very large number of participants. Our goal is that academics (typically people with a B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in the biological sciences) who provide data will have the opportunity to contribute as a coauthor on one or more scientific papers resulting from this unique data set, even if this results in a large number of coauthors.

In additon, our goal is to eventually give academics participanting in the project access to the data well in advance of releasing it to the general scientific community.

Further information on this policy may be obtained through personal communication with one of the project leaders.
